A thoroughly disappointing experience. First of all the dull decor of the restaurant surprised us all - it felt like we were in a hotel restaurant and I know that's what it is but other places have managed to do a much better job of creating it's own presence. We were then seated in a corner table where our view was of either the plug sockets on the waiter station or the kitchen door. We asked to move and the waiter said we should have specified we were non-smokers at the time of booking! I had not been asked either way when making the reservation. The Maitre'D was very courtious and found us a much improved table but we were immediately put on the back foot by the attitude of the waiter that it was our fault. It was then time to order the wine, the one we requested was unavailable so were forced to choose a more expensive alternative.
Despite all this we had really come for the food...the starters were ok but the main courses were not nearly good enough. Two of our party of four had the pork belly and both were returned. It was simply inedible, too fatty, over salted and completely devoid of taste (I know it is a fatty cut but this was awful). The Matire'D took our comments to the Chef who apparantly said that pork belly is supposed to be this way and it is a 'specific flavour'. I have rarely returned a meal and certainly did not expect to do so in a Gordon Ramsay restaurant, what's more I did not appreciate getting into a conversation with the Maitre'D about what pork belly should taste like. I am well aware of how it should be and this was not it. We both chose the Sea Bass as an alternative which when arrived was again far, far too salty as had been my wife's steak. I had enjoyed a delicious Sea Bass for lunch at The Beach in The Royal Mirage the day before which was infintely better. Appetite ruined we decided against a dessert or coffee and asked for the bill. It was no surprise that when this arrived it offered no acknowledgement of a meal that had clearly not been enjoyed by any of us.
Over all the biggest shame was that we had all been looking forward to this meal and all of us left with a bitter taste in our mouth and no desire whatsoever to return.

Slightly surprised by last 2 reviews which were so unfavourable.
We've been 3 times and each time really enjoyed it. Some dishes are better than others but hey its life.
We were last customers in last time & the wait team started to let their hair down a little & started clearing up; no problem to us, they're human too. But I guess Gordon might have gone ape s**t with them...
However, on a good night its still the bench mark for other Dubai restaurants.

Over hyped and over priced, the restuarant looks exactly the same as the glasshouse!! The prestige menu was ok but nothing more, the only saving grace was the wine to accompany which was very good. At least I have been which means I do not have to go again. Save your money and pre book hospital road when next in london if you want to eat with Gordon the right way.

Food was excellent (Menu Prestige), but overall cold atmosphere. Service in a rush (first course served before wine order was even taken!). boring, pretentious (particularly Maitre D' and sommelier), Verre should at least try to enforce some sort of a dress code: Smart casual OK, but PLEASE NO running shoes, zip-off trekking pants, flip flops, or gym jerseys...
Would come back for the food, but not the atmosphere & service.

The meal was very average. Appaling for this level/class of restaurant. They are not at all flexible and would not make something / change something as they said they are basically a production line. Gordon ramsey has set a menu which they must follow. If you want your meat well cooked or you want a sugar free dessert, do not come here as they will not help. They even went on to say that the restaurants that CAN cook ad-hoc are rubbish (The Ivy / J. Sheeky / Caprice / Burj Fish restaurant etc..) Which I found was out of order, as I enjoyed the food at these restaurants much better. And they were prepared to help. I also found the waiting staff were overbearing (3 at your table all the time) ready to pick up a crumb that you dropped! And the Maitre D was so full of himself and un-friendly I certainly wont go back. I recommend that you try other restaurants as this is far from the standard it should be

WOW - We selected the 7 course menu, which was actually 8 courses and we enjoyed each course. The standard of the food was excellent, the best main we've ever had!
Well worth the £200, including two bottles of wine.
Can't wait to go back to Dubai and visit Verre again.

We had dinner at Verre on a recent holiday to Dubai and it was one of the highlights of our stay. We opted for the seven course taster menu, though with the pre-starter and hefty plate of petit four it was, in reality, nine courses. Each course was a delight. The standout courses were the first, a wonderfully clean and fresh minestrone and the third, a tian of crab with avocado - such simple and elegant flavours. Two small gripes - the sauce with my braised pork belly was a little salty and the cheese course featured 3 soft cheeses - a hard cheese or blue would have been quite welcome.
The standard of service was excellent and the Maitre d' was a delight, making us feel very welcome.
The wine list was comprehensive and not overpriced. The whole bill was around £160, which we thought very good value. The first thing I would do on a return to Dubai is book a table at Verre. Outstanding.

We booked a meal for our Silver wedding Anniversary. The food & service were exceptional, truly the best meal we have ever had.The bar area for pre dinner drinks was a little basic, but the food more than made up for it.We will definitely be booking again for our return visit.

Having already been to Ramsey's restaurant in Chelsea i had high expectionation of Verre, and i wasn't dissapointed. We had the seven course taster menu. The service was fantastic with the waiters explaining to us everything we were eating in detail. The food was to die for although the chicken i had for main course was slightly bland. Amazing desserts and the froi grois starter i had was the nicest thing i have ever eaten.
