I had sauntered in last night at 11pm and there was just one table occupied which was also vacated after a few minutes but not before the guests asking the manager if it’s always this quiet. Recession, holiday season and Ramadan has affected everyone it seems.

Opted for the prestige menu and taste the best they have to offer. Separately ordered a bottle of water and a glass of rose wine. First some canapés were served before starting with the menu.. The canapés had some chicken croquette and dried bread with gnocchi and aubergine dip. The first off the menu was minestrone soup with basil pesto. Funnily, it was served with a teaspoon. You can get away with almost anything once you are someone. To be fair, it was nice. For the second course I could choose between seared and marinated yellow fin tuna or pressed terrine of foie grasand oak smoked duck. I had read people praising the tuna so I decided to go for that. It was a tasteless and tiny disappointment. Never mind the tiny though. Next to come through was risotto of green peas with lobster butter. Satisfying dish. Fourth course caused some dilemma as there were 3 options and here again I went by the reviews and decided on confit belly of pork with creamed savoy of cabbage. What I let go were cannon of Australian lamb with the other choice being just as popular pan fried line caught halibut. The pork was a worthy dish. Then to sweeten things up came iced banana parfait. It was recommended by the manager and it was indeed superb. It was either that or a selection of fine European cheese with walnut bread which entails an additional Dhs 30. Following this was a choice between chilled valrhona chocolate fondant with pear sorbet and honeycomb or honey and toasted fennelseed crème brulee with alphonso mango salad. I followed the suggestions and took the former. As if this was not enough came petit fours which was 2 sets of 3 different sweet treats to round things off. I felt quite stuffed and that’s why I had earlier mentioned to not mind the tiny part.

It was good but nothing spectacular that I would splurge Dhs 577 on. The menu selection seems off the mark especially if half the course deals with desserts. The person going through will feel it too. Agreed, there was the cheese option. The staff, especially the Argentinian manager were nice but there wasn’t much to do with just a lone diner.

Had dinner at Verre last year. Great use of time. Never a dull moment. This alone sets it apart from other places. Even before you can order comes the palate cleaning soup with tidbits to prepare for what is to come.

The starter and main dish were divine. On declining desserts, petit feurs were brought a delectable 4 different sweetballs. I ended up asking more of a particular one I liked.

The staff are prompt and knowledgeable about the food. The manager or the Sommelier recommending and explaining about the wines would break off into "excellent choice" whenever the guests would enqiure of any wine. It appears that everything goes well with everything. Unless you are a real connoisseur, it all appears very snobbish.

The food is beyond the understanding of most diners. The only persons who know what is going on are the Chef and the staff but trust them and you'll have a smile on your face while chewing your food with Gordon Ramsey and his artistry dominating your thoughts.

The experience costs quite a bit with a starter and a main dish with a glass of wine putting you back by more than DHs. 462

We ate at Verre as part of a honeymoon trip to Dubai and were not disappointed. Although the restaurant was a little quiet when we arrived (early for Dubai at 7.30), we had an excellent experience.

Good service, great food and no pressure on the wine list - we chose a single bottle to accompany our meal.

Having dined the previous evening at the Burj (Al Muntaha) and been severely disappointed with the level of service and the quality of food, we would recommend Verre many times over.

While visiting my daughter and son in law last week, I was unexpectedly brought to Verre, for brunch as a birthday treat.

An excellent venue, with fantastic food, great service and an all around ambiance which we all appreciated, I really was grateful for the experience.

It certainly was one of the most memorable events during our break in Dubai.

We have eaten at the Verre Restaurant twice and have booked already for our next trip to Dubai in August. The food is to die for!! The service is wonderful, dishes described and wine advice given if needed. The diningexperience is exactly what one would expect from Gordon Ramsey. Between each course we are given little delights and each course is beautifully presented and delicious. The desserts were devine.

We had also had dinner at the Burj and I hacve to say that The Verre was cheaper and a far superior meal. Value for money at the top end of the dining scale.

I love it and have no idea where the other reviewers were eating....because it couldnt havebeen here!
