Al Qasr

Went to Al Qasr on the second night of my holiday in Dubai and have to say I was pretty disappointed. Went there due to rave reviews and awards from Time out and was really left wondering what all the fuss was about.

The staff seemed to be completely disinterested in me and my boyfriend from the moment we walked in. They gruffly announced that it was set menu only, which we were completely happy with, but we were given no explanation as to what this would entail. We were then given a wine list but then never asked if we wanted to order any wine and in fact we never saw the waiter enough to ask. Food was ok but not amazing and a big part of the problem was that we weren't told what anything was, it was unceremoniously plonked on our table.

Overall a much hyped and reasonably expensive meal (£70 for two with no drinks or wine) turned out to be very average and as an overall experience taking service into consideration considerably below par.
