Bice

Dined here on the night of Aug 13. The original location is shut for renovations so the venue had moved to the Bice Skybar on the 10th floor and featured a reduced menu. There were no pizzas and even some of the starters like lobster carpaccio or the king crab steak salad were missing. Smoking was permitted located as it was in a bar.
Once seated, fresh warm bread and breadsticks were kept at the table with 3 dips - olive paste, tomato, and olive oil. The beef carpaccio topped with thin dry cheese and lots of rocket leaves covered the entire plate and was a sight indeed.
The main dish was seabass on a bed of potato.Served hot and well presented but devoid of the taste of any seasoning. Lemon wedges and lemon butter sauce were kept by the side. With a little salt things were much better. The skin was crisp but didn't cut with the flesh which was soft and fresh and broke away with just a little pressure. At Dhs. 175 it was pricey.
Although I had wanted to stop, but I just couldn't go away without having their famed tiramisu. It was served in a cup and was the creamiest tiramisu I had ever had. The brown ?coffee powder coating on the top left a slight bitter taste in my mouth which leaves me to conclude that next time I should have it with coffee.
The atmosphere inside was of elegance and fine dining but the waiters were disarming and this helped me feel more relaxed.
The bill for one person including a bottle of sparkling water was around Dhs 330.

I proposed to my wife at BICE in Dubai, and we dined at BICE in New York on our honeymoon. The Dubai experience was far superior in many ways; the service, the food, the wine and the general atmosphere far excelled the New York eatery, which appeared basic by comparison. I would not hesitate to recommend BICE Dubai to anyone looking for a memorable evening in out in the newest part of the city.

My husband and I had a very satisfying Saturday lunch here.
We ordered a Pizza to share as a starter (they do have pepperoni, it's just not on the menu) which was pretty good, although I wouldn't say its the best in Dubai.
We then shared a seafood risotto which was nice and a seafood linguini which was divine; the best seafood pasta in Dubai.
As usual the service was good and there was a nice atmosphere. I would highly recommend it if you are craving authentic Italian.

Perfect night out in Dubai!!!
Nice dinner with the amazing fountain in the background, but best of all the nice and relaxed live music played while having the dinner...

Four covers. September 2009. Very good indeed, and that is saying something as I am extremely fussy!
On of the best I've sampled in 24 months of living in Dubai.

I just can confirm the review of Edward Slayman
We booked a table at this restaurant via our hotel. Arriving, there was no reservation. We had to call back our hotel to get the name of the Hilton/Bice person who took the call.
We got then a table.
Food: Below average. I do not like half cold pasta, it should be at least warm. We then had a Tagliata, medium. It turned out to bre a number of well done small pieces of beef.
Bsides: we were eating at the recommended terrace. In place like Hilton, I at least expect a table with a tablecloth and not having to eat on a sandy glass plate.
I am not a cook myself, but my wife cooks everithing by far better then what we had at Bice.
My conclusion: we have been there three times today: the first, the last and the only time

Reserved a table and was not impressed. No privacy, waiter not only could not speak english, he could not understand it, THIS I blame the restaurant. My salad was doused in OIL, not Vinagrette as stated on menu, VEAL, OH MY GOD, Never in my life have I had a piece of meat taste like a worn out shoe. I order it rare and it was, must have been cut, but then I doubt it as I watched and was not impressed in any way from what I saw.
As a chef and someone that loves to eat out and try many different types of restaurants I can not Fathom why people rate this a good restaurant.
As a chef I am appaled that it is rated as high as it is.
I'm retired, live in Seattle,. and will out cook any chef they have. Oh, by the way, the Restaurant should take initive to make sure employees understaqnd english and other languages they encounter, not keep sending people over to table asking what is wrong.
