In the last two weeks I've been to the Lime Tree Cafe twice - the Jumeirah and Ibn Battuta branches. Mainly because I love the food - massive portions and interesting salad combinations, rather than the normal tired Caesar salads.

Unfortunately I'm in agreement with the reviews about the queuing system - this should be changed as I don't think it does the cafe any favours. The decor and ambience is great but think that there should be a different section for families as the set up in the Jumeirah branch certainly doesn't cater for pushchairs and boisterous kids. This is especially true when you have busting waiters carrying large trays of food at Formula 1 speed!

I would go again - it's a nice place and great for catching up with friends for lunch.

The system of ordering is especially tedious, especially when there is a large group of us and the place is also busy. We have had to stand in a queue to order food for up to 25 minutes, and then unlike other Q'ing or self service restuarants, you dont actually come away with anything to show for your patience (like a tray of food) but rather have to go back to your table to then wait for another while before the food finally arrives. These type of service arrangements work best in small delis where there is passing trade the food ready for you take away with you. We like some of the food (some of the meals, like the fritters have been very poor) and some dishes are very tasty and healthy but we avoid the place during busy times or whenever there are more than 2 of us.

Lime Tree Cafe is magic. I had a breakfaomelette and Roast Tomato Chutney, it was sost roll there with loads of Rocket Salad, lovely... behind the counter loads of other things, I wish I had a bigger stomach or more time... it is THE place for me, unpretentious and the food absolutely delicious. Owing to the system, a sort of semi - self service, one cannot measure the place by service standards of other restaurants. It has a distinct College Campus feel which I love...

Lime Tree Cafe is magic. I had a Breakfast Roll filled with Rocket Salad, omelette and their own roast tomato chutney. Finger-licking would be the right word! An excellent coffee, which if you wanted you could sweeten with a natural corn-based sugar alternative (NOT Aspartame...!). The wall behind the cashier was full with other delicacies, I just wish I had a bigger stomach and / or more time to try everything... if you want Caviar, go elsewhere. This place serves home-style food the way I would never succeed to make at home...

I've only been to the Ibn Battuta Mall branch...

I was thinking of opening a Lime Tree Franchise in Toronto with my friend, but the reviews here really shocked me... I think it is a nice, relaxed, and feels like home atmosphere!

Food: very healthy and flavourful choices that are very likely to satisfy different tastes!

They definitely need to work on their service with comparison to their prices! Especially their serving speed...

Food: The yummiest carrot cake I have ever tasted.

Slightly over priced

Decent ambience in the outside area - nice when its less hot and humid. Inside is too dark

Service lousy: esp lady at the counter - abrupt and does not know what working in the service industry is about.

Totally over-rated. I can't even believe it made it into the top ten for food! We're talking quiches and cheesecakes, not gastronomy! Portions are massive but generally on the "oily" side and definitely too expensive for what it is. The terrasse is ok when it's cool enough but inside is very noisy, a bit dark and over-crowded with annoying Jumeirah-Janes and yelling kids.
