Malecon

I love that place for:

- superb band, the voice of the singer and the dancers are simply out of common.

- no show off. I am done with Sho Sho, Boudoir, Barasti and other show-off places were people compete with money to feel alive. I just love South America for the passion of people. There, it is real life, full of emotions and without artifices you can find down here. Malecon is the embassy of this spirit.... if you can get in...

I think this place could be (much) better if:

- the bouncers were a bit smarter and avoid repeating "do you have a reservertation". They tend to make entrance exclusive but the club doesnt work so well indeed and they only manage to piss off people like me who want to spend a good time with buddies but cant get in if we dont have a girl for a guy.

The place was obviously much better with the previous owner, not as much from the production side as the current band is simply magnificient but on the support side with the wrong entrance policy.

Went to The Malecon with a party of 20 people.

We were very welcomed and the service was great.

There was no salsa dancing planned for that night, but after a word with the manager,?maitre D', The DJ was called and a few dancers turned up,The band also got better and better as the atmosphere picked up. I had a good few dances and a lesson in improving my very limited pachata. I was grabbed to make up the numbers for a ruerda! 4000miles away from my nomal dancing haunts!!! GREAT

Bad service!Stay away from this place...i complained about the loud music and the waiter answered that MANAGER IS BUSY so he couldn't help...After 5min i found out that he was busy eating next to our table!!!!Unbelievable...the manager in duty having dinner and cannot help the costumers!!!!He didn't even bother to come at all!!!THANK YOU for distroying our evening

I was going often to this place for the Latino atmosphere and authentic food i can say, but on my last visits I realized many things changed badly. The food excellent, nice ceviches and paella, but the service is bad. The band is good,but not anymore the latino feeling here. After dinner i was sitting in lounge area but i was very rude removed by manager(after one of the staff told me that i cannot stay for a mojito on the sofa).He told me that is VIP are, so I cannot sit.He took my glass and put it on the bar.With a very bad english he told me i am not anymore wellcome to malecon.I dont suggest anybody to try the place since the new manager took over.There is nothing latino except the food.
