Cocos is the quintessential Californian restuarant in Dubai, trying, and I stress the word to be all American - Trying to be the most perfect embodiment of a Californian restaurant but it doesnt really work.

I work in Dubai, right next door to Cocos so it is an easy choice for lunch time, especially during August when the heat makes it impossible to walk more than 100 metres. Anyway, greeting in cocos I have always found fairly decent, the food however is distinctly average for the price you pay. For example, its now more than 50 dhs for a small water and a salad?? This can be prepared yourself for no more than 10 dhs so its clear the mark up is larger than Dolf Lungdrens pecks. I have decided to leave cocos out of my diet as there are NO healthy options on the menu, in fact the salads are more likely worse then a burger becuase the dressing is loaded with calories. . . its dressed up as healthy. . . . .its like a bear trap wearing tinsel, begging you to touch it but you mustnt, your fingers will be injured - just as your wallet does in cocos!!!

I don't know where all these bad comments are coming from, but for me and my family, we LOVE Coco's. We go to the one in city center, and it's really yummy. The breakfast menu is awesome, the lunch and dinner menu is great too. We love their food and their service. We had no problems what so ever.

For all those who think Coco's is good food.. then I must say I feel sorry for you as you have not had the pleasure of good food. I come from a family of chefs and trust me when I say - they really need a good menu and a good price for what they offer now.

No matter how much salt was added to our food - the manager kept insisting - the food was prepared right.

Recently a friend was served almost burnt fries and they did not even have the decency to take it off her bill.

However, i must say - we were greeted well by the waiters.

Highly not recommended

Coco's is a rip off of all the restaurants there is in the UAE...

Not only is it filled with bad customer service waiters and waitresses, most of the them don't even know how to speak english!!!!!

There's no doubt it hasn't won any awards...

When it comes to delivery just a couple of blocks away... it takes 4 hours!!! what's up with that!!!

I go to Coco's very often as i find the food good and the staff very welcoming and friendly.I have not experienced any problem or complaint with food or the service.I am welcomed each time with a smile and left with the same. The food is great, although i would just recommend more vegetarian items on the menu. The pricing....can be reduced a little bit.On the whole, always been a good dine-in for me.Cheers!

I used to eat on Coco'd all the time. I was very impressed with the food menu and always found that my choices were tasty. However everytime I went there they had increased the price of the dishes by a couple of dirhams. Whenever I asked them why they either said inflation or due to renovation. As a customer we should not have to pay for their renovations costs! With regards to tthe inflation I do not think it is realistic that their cost increased by 25% in one year, especially since they were way above average pricing to start with. Due to the cost I have stopped eating there now.

My husband and I at there a couple of nights ago.

For starters I ordered the broccoli soup in a bread bowl to share with my husband. It was obviously thickened with too much corn starch. Not great, but it was ok.

My husband ordered a Patty Melt for his meal and the patty wasn't seasoned enough so it was a plain hamburger with some sauteed onions between two slices of toast. It was edible, but not great.

I ordered the Asian Chicken Salad. When I first got it, I thought the chicken mixture on top of the lettuce was awfully dark, and when I tasted it, it had too much soy sauce in the dressing.

I thought mixing it with the lettuce would mellow it out but it didn't, and I couldn't eat it. Also, maybe some moisture from the lettuce came out because it became like a salad stew. When I explained it to the waitress she asked if it was too sweet and I told her it has too much soy sauce, so it was too strong. I also showed her how much liquid there was and she said "well, that will melt".... I have no clue what she meant but anyhow, I then told her we are not paying for that and that I was fine just sharing my husband's patty melt so we had enough food.

When we went to pay for it, they didn't not take it off of the bill.

My husband spoke to the manager about this and the manager replied:

"well, we did not take it off of the menu because it is a sweet dressing..."

--I never complained it was too sweet!!! Plus, I am Japanese, we put sugar in our food, I am used to sweet dishes.

I interrupted him and said,

"its not the sweetness, there is too much soy sauce in the dressing"

He said,

"well, we are revising the recipe now but this is a standard recipe"

my husband had a few more words with him, but the manager was adamant that they don't have to take it off our bill...then he said, "well I hope to see you again"

no they won't.

My husband works in the restaurant industry, and my family owned and ran a restaurant for over 50 years. Most of the time, we go with the saying "the customer is always right". If a customer cannot eat a dish because they just think it is bad, we quickly whisk the dish away and replace it with something else, or take it off of the bill if the customer doesn't want anything else.

that was the absolute worst Asian Chicken Salad I have ever had.

When we first went in, I was kind of excited as it reminded me of places like Denny's and Village Inn in the USA... but Denny's and Village Inn are way better.

I have been to Coco's quite often and I'm very satisfied. The staff is always very friendly and the food taste and for a good price, much better than some other restaurants where you pay a fortune and get "crap" food.
