Finz Restaurant. Has a wide selection of food. The fish dish was great and especially the desert. Oh desert really delicious.

I am happy to go on record by stating my full name at the end of my review as opposed to one confused reviewer remarking that the chef is 'arrogant', which is, by the way my dear gastronauts (who said that then?), quite quite wrong. This chef is talented and anything but arrogant.

My father was an exec chef - I grew up in kitchens and can cook a little myself, however, i have a very experienced palate. Perhaps moreso is my experience of dining in 99% of the 'top' restaurants in Dubai that qualifies me more than others to opine.

My point being that what Gert Bredenhann (Exec Chef Finz) has created is exceptional in Dubai - unrivalled rustic/flavoursome Mediterranean cuisine at equally exceptional prices....or to put it bluntly, I have had two of the best meals ever in Dubai cooked by Gert and his team and I have dined at Ramsays Vere/Burj Al/Gros Hse and many more. I also eat at Finz on a daily basis and have done for three years.

Gert is as I am - passionate about food. Fresh produce, new ideas/specials, excellent presentation and great great flavours. Desserts are better than any I have tasted eg pecan pie. He has a great team behind him - a great front of house Manager Khalid. Service is always efficient/friendly - 10/10.

I had a bad experience at FINZ on 2 separate occasions.

Food is tasteless and the chef is extremely arrogant. He thinks he is doing paying customers a favor.Wake up chef you are in Dubai not in South Africa. Its time you go

The service is excellent - the waiters and waitresses are extremely friendly, enthusiastic, and attentive. There is a wide selection of specials every day, ranging in price and style. The food is delicious and quite original (e.g. herby or saffron flavoured mashed potatoes). The fish dishes are expertly prepared and presented. The mocktails are also excellent (even the apple juice is tasty and tangy beyond what is to be expected of juice). The portions are enormous, but you are loath to leave anything because everything is so good. The desserts also are delicious, and there is a fair selection from which to choose.

I can say nothing negative about Finz.

I am a regular guest at Finz and have always been very pleased with there friendly open service. The food is outstanding and fresh. The chef there is South african and creates daily specials, thats creative and packed with flavour, like the Cajun King fish or the saucy garlic mussels..mmmm I recomend any body to give them a go!!
