Visiting Dubai recently for business and spending three weeks with colleagues from UK, US, India, Kenya and Singapore - Jashan soon became one of our favorite places to meet for dinner. The food was some of the best and the service was not too bad either. Most of us have had pretty good Indian food around the world (especially London) and there was a general concensus that the curries and kebabs here were excellent. While most of the contingent went for chicken dishes from tandoori, tikka and vindaloo, myself and my colleague from Nairobi were partial to mutton biryani and prawn masala. I had to encourage most of them to try sweet lassi - an after dinner (spicy dinner) drink that mellows out any concerns over the (after effects of the) spices. Dubai has many excellent types of foods available, and I would certainly recommend a visit to Jashan as a tasty medium priced alternative.

I used to live in Dubai in Al-Barsha 3, and I did not wat to go to far, or spend premium amounts for good asian food. I have to say the Jashan is probably one of the best Indian/Pakistani restaurants I have been to yet.
No, the service is not the best, but the decor is quite nice. However, the food was authentique, the spicing not over the top and the place is as cheap as biscuits. Also, I had on several occasions had bottled water with my food and was never charged 15 dirhams for it. I would suggest that the staff may have made a mistake, and anyways 15 dirhams is only just over 2 quid anyways.
Worth a try, but try it aleast 2-3 times to get fair idea.

Been there couple of days ago... and the staff behaviour is horrible... the food was not at all the taste of india or south asia... they are just selling the name of india.. had some international friends around and felt soo dishearten coz of their staff and food.

i have eaten my lunch once in this restaurent, good food though but one thing i would like to tell all that the value of a mineral water bottle is 3.5 dirhams which i have taken from them - but they are selling it for 15 dirhams. i was really very angry but i coundn't understand y do they charge so much for the water bottle as if they are a 7 or 5 star hotel..

You may like the place if you want to eat Indian food in UK or USA. It is definitely not a place to eat if you are looking for good 'Indian' food. A complete disappointment.

This restaurant is between the Fairmont and Crowne Plaza Hotels. As it is not within a hotel, it does not serve beer or wine. But do not let that keep you from visiting this restaurant. They have a large menu. I had the lamb roganjosh and it was one of the best I have ever tasted. Just enough heat to be interesting but not overwhelming. The prices are very reasonable and you can get good value for your dirham here.
