Perhaps it was because we dined late on a Sunday evening but the atmosphere, service and cooking left a lot to be desired.
We had no problems getting a large table by a window overlooking Sheikh Zayed Road in a virtually empty restaurant with a capacity of 500 covers where staff out-numbered diners by about 3:1. The chopped rocca leaves in our garden salad was unnecessarily true to its name when it arrived with a liberal dressing of mud. We simply abandoned it and no replacement was offered (although they did apologise and removed it from the bill).
The selection of seafood was satisfactory although the freshness of some of the less mainstream offerings were questionable. We were impressed though, that there was a range of cooking methods from steaming to deep-frying, for our chosen catch and a decent choice of (mainly oriental) sauces for each. However, the execution was somewhat haphazard as the cuttlefish was far over-cooked and the grilled sea bream resembled charcoal.
Lastly, the end of our meal was interrupted by a waiter who insisted on immediate payment of our bill as we were wrestling with a steamed crab.
One to cross off the list, but a return visit won't be imminent.

Ambience is nothing special but the fish is amazing! The sauces are excellent as well. Be sure to try teh red snapper and pomphret filet deep fried with garlic chilli sauce. Yum!
