Teatro is one of the best restaurants in Dubai. Highly recommended! Beautiful and smart waitesses and excellent food, especially their sushi.

The menu of cuisines from around the world may not be the most innovative in Dubai but the execution from the kitchen is near-faultless, which is a novelty in itself! Further endorsement is evidenced by the busy dining room and booking is advisable, especially if you are intending to come later in the evening.
Their sushi/sashimi menu of generous cuts from a decent selection of fresh fish comes highly recommended, as does the grilled chicken tikkas from the Indian section.
Prices are more than reasonable considering its location, and the daily 50% off offer on food orders placed before 7:15pm is an absolute bargain although the restaurant should work on the selection of wines available by the glass.

Used to be a great place.
I have been a regular for 5 years ...
Howver, tonight I have experienced the worst service and the lowest quality of food ever at Teatro ...
Definitiely off my list of place to go.

My first point is that Teatro is not an Indian restaurant. I'd much rather see it called "Fusion" even though these days that term does not mean much and yet anything.
Anyway, to add to the rave reviews, I must say we take visiting friends from Europe to this restaurant as a "must visit" tourist spot. The seared salmon with wasabi mashed potatoes are simply to die for.
The friendly staff, good collection of wines, killer anti-pasti plate for two and vibrant atmosphere make Teatro one of the best restaurants in Dubai.

One thing you cannot argue with is that Teatro has a terrific atmosphere. It has a great little bar whilst you wait, good decor and a nice vibe, whilst the seating arrangements provide a nice level of privacy.
Overall the food is good. The menu hasn't changed in the last three years at least however and is in need of a face-lift. The best way to explain the food is as inoffensive, Teatro has mastered the art of combining winning flavours, without offering anything that goes beyond standard fare. You will always enjoy your food here, however do not expect the exceptional.
The wine list is good and extensive, and the cellar looks great however the staff knowledge (although better than average for dubai) was a bit of a let down. My particular waiter could not tell me the blend of the wine I had ordered and of course can be forgiven for not knowing the specific region from which the wine came.
I feel that Teatro appeals to everyone, and is a winning business receipe. I would love to see it focus on a particular style of food however and achieve a higher level of taste and client satisfaction. As a business model, you cannot fault it so why change.
Once specific gripe was that my souflet was not a souflet, but a mud cake. Obviously pre-prepared (as I expect most dishes are), the "lava" failed to materialise. It was still very tasty, which again is in line with the teatro business model.
Overall a very pleasurable experience, friendly staff with just the right amount of attention.

Having recently moved to Dubai, I was interested to check out the local food establishments. Some friends recommended Teatro and it didn't disappoint.
The menu offered an eclectic mix of dishes from Chinese, Thai, Japanese, Italian and Indian which made it tough decision on what to eat! I opted for the Tom Yum soup and my fellow diners had the tempura. The soup was delightfully flavoured and served in an iron pot over a candle lit warmer.
For main I had the local hammour which was lightly battered along with a delicately prepared rice pile and some crunchy vegetables. The combination was just right and just what I expected.
The wine list was extensive and offered wines from all over the world. Our decision for a Lebanese red - which was bold with lots of body - was simply divine.
The restaurant was busy but we still managed to be served quickly and efficiently. Maybe only a minor negative was that the waiting staff were hovering far too much, pressuring us to choose our food order when we were deep in decision mode on what to have from the extensive menu.
However, on that note, the food was delicious, atmosphere was relaxed and I would recommend visiting Teatro again for a great dining experience.

Having been to Teatro twice in the last 2 years ( I live and work near London), I find that it is a magnificent mixture of food choices. The dining area is lovely, the service is great, and the early bird special on food is fantastic!!! I am able to treat my friends to an amazing meal at an exceptionally reasonable price. Well done!!!! Zagat needs to hear about you!

This is an amazing restaurant! Hidden in a normal hotel it is a crowdy evening every day, with a samll card from Thailand, Japan, China and other eastern countries. Fast excellent service, with some beautiful waitresses. Nice romantic atmosphere.
