Spice Island

Came in late last night barely half an hour before the tables were to be cleared. I managed to touch most bases. It definitely packs variety. The Italian stand didn't have much except veg. pizza slices and some veg. appetizers. The Indian stand was slightl;y better.

The place can be summed as a buffet meal in a food court.

I had never been to Spice Island before but heard & read a lot of good reviews. so i was looking forward to dining there last night. But unfortunately i have to say the food was quite disappointing. except the arabic food & mongolian live cooking station with it's lobsters & prawns, i didnt enjoy any of the other cuisines. not sure if i went on a bad day but wasnt too happy with the experience!!

Well I personally LOVE Spice Island and have been with many large groups of friends and we all have a blast (I guess because we don't need to get drunk to have fun)

I would think that a restaurant would be judged on the food served. You can get a good drink at Rattlesnake but that doesn't mean I'm going to invite my friends there for dinner. Funny how someone will skip out on a restaurant simply because the drinks aren't strong enough instead of appreciating the wonderful food being served.

Anyway, I love the place like I said. Actually, heading there tonight for Iftar Buffet!!

I was there with my family and it was so fantastic. There are 6 LIVE cooking stations and the food is really nice. I enoyed the evening and I will visit the Spice Island very very soon!!!

There also is a great atmosphere, your feeling will be great if you visit this restaurant. Valet parking is free of charge.

A group of 9 of us went to on a Friday night. The food and service were very good. We are all residents of dubai and a few had been there before. We've all done the all you can eat and drink many times before. This was the worst restaurant as far as the drinks go. We started wilth cocktails and none of us could taste any alcohol in them. My hubby had about 7 and said it's like he was drinking juice all night. I switched to wine after the first one. The house cask wine is not good, but it's was better then the watered down drinks. I really liked the layout of this place. All the food was very nice too. I'm sorry to say however, that I would not return. There are so many other fantasic places in town and know how to pour a drink. When your with a party of 9, you want to get a little merry. Sadly, no one in our party was very merry by the end of the night. A real shame, but stay away from this place if you want to be merry.

The Thursday night buffet is excellent and fantastic value. So much choice, and the food is really good, which isn't always the case at the buffets. The prawn tempura is the best anywhere bar none, and the Indian counter is top notch too. That plus 3 hours of drinks included in the price - heaven and a bargain!
