My husband and I spent our honeymoon at the Park Hyatt and had our first dinner here at Traiteur. We called ahead and they said the reservations were full for that evening but we were welcome to come and they would accomodate us. Well, we went and the place was basically empty. 3 other occupied tables. And they sat us at the first table right at the end of the staircase. Oh well. It was nice and quiet with not much foot traffic, so we stayed at that table. Our server was very nice, cordial, and didn't rush us. I ordered the "soup" for the evening... which was served as a soup bowl, with truffles placed along the bottom. The server then pours the hot potato soup from a carafe into my bowl. Very nice! The soup was delicious... and I discovered I wasn't a fan of truffles.

Anyway, I can't remember what we had as entrees, but we shared their special dessert - a slice of very thinly sliced apples, stacked, and served with creme fraishe from a brand new jar. delicious! it was like ice-cream.

It's definitely worth a try. I'd go back. Oh, and I love that I could see the chefs cooking. The place was spotless.

Outstanding food, far better than Verre by Ramsay. I had the Crayfish and was very impressed. Fellow diners had various steaks, which too were outstanding, and allegidly sourced from Nebraska USA. The menu is my main gripe. It is sorted by main ingredient rather than stater, main, etc. Which although I guess it trying to be inovative, is simply a pain.

Wine at the lower end is a bit steep (Pinot Grigio for about 40 GBP, anyone?) But the better wines are justified. We took a bottle of Petrus and a bottle of Puligny Montrachet, and I would not say they cost more than 2% above London prices, bearing in mind that London is genraly much cheaper than Dubai for Wine, that's not a bad thing.

The service was not good, but would pass, as they did not have to deal with anything out of the ordinary. Yet, things like moving my wine glass, not pouring the wine untill the glass was empty, etc. are quite rudimentary, and I would expect more from such a restaurant.
