Al Reef Lebanese Bakery review by Jaideep

I first discovered Al Reef Bakery in 2004, when, during my third visit to Dubai, having already been smitten with the cuisine of the middle east, I chanced upon this dimunitive establishment in Karama. The waiters are friendly, affable and will pose for photos, if that is your wont. But the reason to go to Al Reef is the divine, piping hot manakeesh. You can get yours straight out of a wood fired oven, topped with thyme, cheese or meat. Repair to one of the Spartan tables along the far wall of the bakery, order tea or buttermilk and let the juices dribble down the side of your mouth as you consume what is perhaps the most sublime fast food in the middle east. I'm going back soon.
